Sustainability

Sustainability of our company

Our bags are made of leather which is unique for a number of reasons. For example, they are fashioned from material that would otherwise be discarded, meaning that no extra animals have been slaughtered for their production.

What happens in the next step is even more important, as our leather is tanned using a combination of two methods. No harmful chemicals are involved, as the tanning uses natural products such as resin. Naturally tanned leather normally develops stains over time. Not our leather, however, as it subsequently receives a coating which is also based on natural materials. This allows us to create a high-quality leather which is 100% biodegradable, while minimizing our impact on the environment.

Even our packaging is environmental conscious. We make sure we work with recycled materials for our packaging and paper bags. Moreover, we balance our transportation pollution and try to be CO2-Neutraal by supporting Klimat-Care.

Lastly, correct working conditions are important to us. As we use high-quality materials we make sure that our suppliers perform their activities under the correct working circumstances.

Sustainability of our product

Our calf leather is supple and refined, with an organic burnished coating. Although it has a long service life, it can still be susceptible to scratches if it is not treated with the right degree of care. We therefore advise you to treat the leather with a transparent leather conditioner from time to time to keep it hydrated. In order to prevent the leather from developing marks, we recommend avoiding exposure to rough surfaces and always ensuring that the product is carefully stored in a fabric bag when not in use. For lighter colours in this material, we also recommend avoiding exposure to dark denim or other dark materials with unstable dyes, as the leather could be exposed to color transfer or stains.
